We all are familiar with the saying that “Smoking is injurious to health.” However, the ANFR, the Americans for the Nonsmokers Right, are poking the gambling industry about the fact that in this ongoing covid-19 situation, the effect of smoking is far more nefarious. The President and CEO of ANFR, Cinthia Hallett, has corresponded to the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) CEO and president, Bill Miller pleading to him to join the ANFR’s cause and put an end to all types of smoking in the casinos of America.
Casino Support to AGA
In the letter, Cinthia Hallett asks Bill Miller to respond to her call and to push casinos to repudiate taxpayers’ money if they deny forsaking smoking in the casino area. Moreover, the ANFR president praises the no-smoking policy of Park MGM which is the first of such example in Las Vegas. She has also spotlighted on the fact that there are already thousands of casinos which are doing great even following the no-smoking protocol. In that letter, she has narrated quite a few persuasive examples to draw the AGA president’s attention. She has cited some of the states’ names, such as Ohio and Maryland, which have been following permanent no-smoking policy for quite a time. These states are still experiencing revenue increase year-over-year even with their limiting capacity.
The ANFR is keeping track of every type of casino and making a list of the ones which have adopted a non-smoking policy in the U.S. On their official site, they particularly shout out the name of all the leaders of Tribal Casinos who have made their contribution to establishing a smoke-free environment for the sake of the safety and soundness of their customers and staff.
Narrating all the good aspects and evidence of having a smoke-free institution, she urged Millar to switch the policy.
Some important gaming venues like Las Vegas and Pennsylvania look further forward to restrict smoking in the casino area. Most of the casino patrons are leaning towards the demand of a smoke-free and craving everyone’s attention on the tremendous peril of removing masks for smoking.
