A new tool has been launched by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), which will help licensees to find out the fraudulent betting activity and to report to the Sports Integrity Unit who is providing 24/7 regulatory services. MGA has reported that suspicious betting activities are going to be reported by the 1st of January. The regulatory committee is introducing the tool in advance.
MGA Plan
To ensure a smoother transition MGA is planning to make necessary changes before the official obligation of the next year’s date. The tool of SBRM must be used by all the operators at the beginning of SBRM. MGA helps to get the manual licenses and provides the support of directing them.
The SBRM is conducting as part of MGA’s reporting system, and this requirement has been published in May, being subjected to the consultation of the operators. The respondents have not published any objection to the Betting Requirements directive. Some of them showed concerned about this system. They think bets can be withheld due to the sudden launch of an investigation. Disputes among the players and operators may raise confusion, and winnings can be flagged at any time.
The MGA has assured that it will publish the updates periodically, which can help to track the progress and can keep significant impacts on the customers.
