The trade union, in that press release, also opined that reopening all those entertainment and cultural venues would be essential for maintaining the economic activity and the well-being of the general citizens. While reopening the industries, they will follow the health authorities and government-issued policies and safety measures. In the opposite direction of the English Channel, the UK is taking preparation to withdraw the lockdown as well, and they will also reopen their businesses to resume the activity.
When the novel coronavirus first attacked in the country, those gaming venues were one of those firsts who had to take health and other safety precautions to prevent the transmission of the disease. In that official statement, the union also said that they were willing to take more intense precautions ensuring strict protections, which would be – controlling the entry points, reducing the capacity of each casino floor, others. Besides, they also mentioned that reopening those casinos was important because of the contribution of the industry to the country’s overall economy. It had been highlighted that approximately 1.4 billion euros are paid to the government as taxes every year.
