The general axiom says that to be successful, entrepreneurs must think outside the box. The apple of their idea has to fall a little away from the root of the tree if falling further seems impossible. They have to think out a new solution even for an old and existing problem.
But when the problem is related to earning money, the solution may generate only more troubles. Like it has happened in Massachusetts. An entrepreneur minded young man tried to turn the floor of Encore Boston Harbor into a rising meth store last September. Even national narcotic controlling department, who has all types of experience of dealing with such minds, must have found his ambition beyond the level of sanity.
Matthew Gorman, a 32-year-old New Hampshire born found it totally inconvenient for the meth users to reach out to other places to purchase the drug. To sympathize with their needs, Matthew installed a meth supplying facility in the casino. Last September, Matthew got himself caught on the spot red-handed for keeping meth and two active firearms in his possession.
Exemplary Punishment to Be Introduced
The Attorney General’s Office pressed additional charge on him with several counts of possession of a loaded firearm, and intent to allot meth. A grand jury in Middlesex County, Massachusetts has upheld those charges. Though the guilty person was captured without having all the information against him, he could not plead much on his behalf as there was a strong surveillance system implemented in the casino.
With the grand jury weighed on Matthews’s charge, now is the time for sentencing. Massachusetts has a strict law for meth distributing and keeping illegal firearms. According to state law, punishment only for distributing meth is around 10 years in prison with a fair amount of fine. For possession of each firearm, more 5 years will be added with that 10 years. Estimating the total charge for meth suppliance and 5 firearms, Matthew is probably looking at a minimum of 35 years of jail.
With bringing a criminal like Matthew under the provision of law, authority is hoping for the situation to be better in the casino areas.
