On 6th July 2020, the Malta Gaming Authority cancelled the authorisation for Join Games Malta Limited (MGA/B2B/321/2016) regarding regulation 10 of the Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations (S.L 583.06).
Accordingly, Join Games Malta Limited can no longer carry out gaming operations, offer gaming services, register new players or accept deposit from them. However, it must retain all registered players, allow them access to their account and refund all pending credits.
The suspension was imposed on the operator for breaching the following terms mentioned in regulation 9(1) of the Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations:
- Failure to submit the list of key functional roles and the supporting documents.
- Failure to seek prior written approval of the Authority for a change in directorship.
- Failure to pay dues to the Authority in a timely manner.
However, Join Games Malta Limited can choose the appeal to challenge MGA’s decision as per article 43 of the Gaming Act (Cap. 583).
