The latest tool that allows licenses to report dubious betting activities to the gaming regulator’s particular Sports Integrity Unit had been launched by The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA).
The mechanism for this newly introduced instrument will be called the Suspicious Betting Reporting Mechanism (SBRM). It has been available to all types of licensed operators that provide sports betting from 23 November 2019.
A general obligation for gaming operators to report any suspicious betting to the Gaming Authority has come into effect from 1 January. However, the gaming regulator had introduced the instrument far ahead of the actual date that was set before.
The Gaming Authority of Malta said it was to prepare for a more comfortable transformation and inflict any required changes before the formal protest that dated the year ahead.
The Gaming Authority declared that all the operators must start to deploy that SBRM instrument from the beginning of the new 2021 year to offer all licensees an informative manual directing them on how to exploit the latest system.
Particular Concerns
The SBRM is just a portion of Malta’s dubious gaming reporting requirements, which had been published in May of 2020 and had been subjected to a consultation with all the operators. None of those ten respondents to that consultation expressed any type of objection to the Doubtful Gambling Reporting Requirements instruction. However, some marked and particular concerns about the possibility for disputes between different players and operators who might find their bets and winnings were sustained because of the implementation of a thorough investigation.
The Malta Gaming Authority thought with the latest SBRM system implemented, crimes and impostors would be reduced, and the gaming industry of Malta will be more secure for local and foreign visitors.
The MGA said that it would decry a timely update on the advancement of cases so that gaming operators could upgrade all the impacted customers.
