The Malta Gaming Authority has permanently canceled all the seven virtual casino operators during the first six half of 2020 to suppress those who are flouting regulations. According to a report released on Monday from Gambling Insider, the online gaming operator stated that the license of Dorobet, Global Gaming Entertainment, the Daily Fantasy Football Company, Pic Mister, Bimbabet, and supporter had been terminated between January and June last year. The termination comes following some formal investigations and compliance audits.
According to the source of the news, throughout that time, the organization suspended BetElephant and Stakers’ licenses and issued around eleven warnings alongside several administrative fines.
Pricey Punishment
Only a few days ago, the Malta Gaming Authority promoted Dr. Carl Brincat, who was the chief legal and enforcement officer, to serve the authority as the new CEO. The MGA has also reportedly hit Blackrock Media with financial penalties that amount to around $1.34 million, which is the heftiest. The authority plunged into the situation after the Dutch firm came up as guilty of running a virtual gaming service without any authorization.
Misleading Marketing
The Maltese regulator also pronounced that it has to take additional actions against ten promotions and actions, which was taking advantage of the pandemic condition and 833 criminal evaluation screening tests covering both brick-and-mortar and virtual casino operators.
Looking for Solidarity
Finally, the Maltese gaming authority asserted that it had received more than 40 international requests for cooperation during the early six months of 2020. It seemed like the whole world was going under the same condition, and every state was facing such a nuisance of infidelity and dishonesty. But what caused the most suffering for the authority were all those advertisements that were spreading controversial news and information in order to extract some advantages out of the situation.
The authority itself sent out around 25 invitations for the cooperation of its own with its Player Support Unit, and it has also successfully processed 2,433 assistance applications which represented a rise of around 38% year-on-year.
