Finally Paid £1.7M Jackpot Win Payment Denied by Betfred

London High Court favors Andy Green (A 54-year-old casino player) from Lincolnshire, and from Betfred, he received his winnings finally.

Due to machine malfunction, payment refuse and clauses in the T & Cs allow them, Betfred argued. The operator clauses were not transparent and fair, stated by Mrs. Justice Foster (High Court Judge).

For the Lucky Winner, It is a Happy Ending

Mrs. Justice Foster, High Court Judge, issued the ruling Over a jackpot win of £1.7 million put an end to the legal battle, and from January 2018, the dating continues. At bookmaker Betfred, Andy Green played game on his mobile phone and got lucky. He played with Frankie Dettori Magic Seven Blackjack, and Andy Green found it fortunate as the wagering operator will not petition against the decision.

According to Mrs. Justice Fosters’ ruling, following the big winning, Andy Green contacted Betfred. The operator suggests that he was a big champion and did not ask for any other point.

A few days later, the Betfred director called Andy Green and denied his winning because he noted that the jackpot-winning occurred due to a software error.

In the meantime, Andy Green, to celebrate the winning, spent more than £2,500 and extended his overdraft. Meanwhile, his insides ripped out, and he felt like being kicked. Andy Green challenged the decision of Betfred’s to deny his winning.

As a token of goodwill, Betfred offered £60,000, but Andy Green refuse to accept it. Betfred offers the amount so that the matter lay down to rest for good. In April 2019, Green seeking £2 million compensation from the parent company Petfre, Gibraltar, and Betfred went to the High Court.

T & C’s Need to Be Transparent

In case of malfunctions in the machine, can declare the winning void as this is the terms and conditions of the company, and before start playing, every player agreed upon it, Betfred’s lawyer argued in court. Again, he argued that the same case happens with Andy Green; the machine failed to reset appropriately as it had a software glitch, and on the device, Andy Green was playing.

However, Betfred accepted the High Court decision and did not pursue the matter further.
