This type of action is blocking the suppliers from taking their acquisition, making the layoffs, which is greatly connected with this. The evolution has announced that it is going to see €30m of cost-cutting measure due to the inclusion of 324 layoffs in the businesses of Malta.

The General Workers’ Union in Malta has represented the dispute related to the industrial issues where it has been shown that the NetEnt’s employees of Malta are greatly threatened by financial security. It also revealed that the business has failed to work for the planned layoffs of the employees. The General Worker’s Union is working great for the safety of the employees and is considered one of the greatest trade union in Malta with the vastness.

According to them, this step is working as a violation of Malta’s Collective Redundancies and Regulations, which are based on the Protection of Employment. Unnecessary layoffs are on the rise in Malta’s employment market, which must be under control.

Collective redundancy has been proposed by the employees. The GWU is saying that every business has its own employee representative, and these issues should be solved by the employees.

The union has also added that the failure in the consultancy is limiting the ability to talk about their rights. Facing redundancy is going to be considered as deliberate action.

The frightening thing is that the employees were notified about the layoffs in the past week. Some of them say that they are escorted out of place because of the owner change on the same day.

The court has granted an injunction so that the layoffs can be held until the next hearing, which is on 17th December. GWU has got temporarily been satisfied with the decision of the court as the illegal dismissals of 324 employees. They will continuously expect that NetEnt and Evolution Gaming will honor the obligation which is dealt with consultation and try to save the jobs of those. If this is not possible, legal compensation must be paid.
