Shooters in Two Homicides Being Sought Near the Strip by The Las Vegas Police

Two men had been murdered in a gunfire spree close to the Virgin Casino in Las Vegas late Friday afternoon. Metro police of Las Vegas continued to seek for the criminals in the night.

One of between two victims died on the spot of that double homicide. The crime scene is an apartment complex only a quarter of a mile away from Las Vegas, Virgin. The other one was taken to a local clinic but passed away while undergoing critical treatment.

The local police dispatch center took numerous calls at around the time 5:30 pm from potential witnesses. They reported that there were multiple shots in the apartment area. Homicide detectives and police were interviewing the inhabitants of that area and witnesses.

Police could not figure out the exact number of shooters who were there. Besides, nobody saw the shooters drove away from the spot. As the initial report states, none was sure if the victims were also armed with any lethal weapon or any kind of other weapons when the firing occurred.

Richard Meyers Said that that event had been extremely dynamic, and it involved several witnesses and other people calling in the police.

More Than 1,220 Arrested

The shooting had come after the previous year when Vegas police and some other law-enforcement agencies and security departments of the casino started Operation Persistent Pressure. This operation was built in response to a thrive in severely violent crime in the region of the Strip and in other spots favorite to tourists.

For many months, police have been responding to shootings, fights, and all other sorts of crimes near or at gaming properties along the entire Strip. The rise in crime seemed to be going under control, given the particular enforcement initiative, as said the police.

They also said that among the accusation filed against all the suspects had been an assault, disorderly conduct, battery shooting, and robbery.
