Two Gambling Operations are Shut down by Austrian Police Units

An executing a joint operation, Financial Police units and the Federal Criminal of Austria has shut down two establishments regarding betting. The operation has taken place in Donaustadt’s Vienna districts and in Funghaus’s Rudolsheim. The officers have found confiscated gambling machines and a great number of drugs.

Illegal betting on a rise

The Gambling Venues have been got a shut down because of the drugs which were found. On February 24, the Federal Criminal Police and the Financial Police units joined the forces to execute the anti-betting operation.

In the Vienna districts, already two gambling venues are hit. When the venues are hit by the police, some of the gamblers tried to flee. But, they became unsuccessful as the police caught them in the red hand. During that time, the police confiscated the gambling machines, and some cash was found.

Later drug-sniffing dogs were used to find out the containers and drugs. The gambling venue of the Donaustadt district was not public and hidden under the restaurant in a sealed-off ground bar under the floor. The officers who went for the inspection found the place with three poker tables where each player was carrying €21,000 as cash. Two gambling machines were also seized from here too. The staff and players were found out responsible for running the enterprise illegally. It is found that in Austria, there is a high risk of drug abuse at present. Though there is a great amount of drug abuse in Austria now, the government has not taken the necessary steps yet. The police are working hard to crack down the illegal gambling ventures.

The police have reported that more than 1463 machines were confiscated in total 1463. A report shows that the number of machines that are seized has been increased in a number by 7.3%. The police have taken the interview of the players and staff and found out that gambling Mafias are related to this in the deep root.

Austria is plagued with drug abuse, and gambling has accelerated this effect on the socio-economic situation. The people who are addicted to betting are very prone to involve themselves in criminal activities.
